Today, missINFORMED formally announces its Helping Without Harming program.
The Helping Without Harming program will strengthen and diversify missINFORMED’s governance and introduce Equity, Diversity and Inclusion workshops for all volunteers. The community-centric capacity building initiative aims to strengthen missINFORMED’s ability to promote diversity and inclusion of racialized and religious minority communities, and Indigenous Peoples. This initiative has been made possible in part by the Government of Canada and its Community Support, Multiculturalism, and Anti-Racism Initiatives Program.
“We are so excited to be able to strengthen our team and resources with our new Helping Without Harming program.” said Clara MacKinnon-Cabral, the Chair and President of missINFORMED. “Building inclusive and community-centric digital spaces requires intentional actions and we hope that with this funding, we will be able to expand our reach and develop a community where everyone feels heard and their needs addressed.”
This funding will also support missINFORMED as they recruit unique and talented individuals to expand its Board of Directors and Advisory Board, organize Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Reconciliation (EDI-R) training and Equity Focused Conversations (EFC) for its volunteers, improve its website and social resource accessibility and provide bilingual digital resources to fill gaps in the existing healthcare system.
