Our Funding Model

This funding model allows us to continue creating free, inclusive, and evidence-based resources while taking a responsible and sustainable approach to the survival of missINFORMED.

Grants

Historically, missINFORMED has relied heavily on government grants to fund our operations. We are deeply grateful for the support we have received through federal institutions, which has allowed us to develop and share high-quality, evidence-based health resources. However, our neighbours to the south have shown us why it is critical for sexual and reproductive health organizations to maintain a diversity of funding streams. Political shifts can directly impact support for sexual and reproductive health and rights, and we want to ensure that missINFORMED can continue its work regardless of changes in political leadership. Donations and client-based work help us work towards long-term sustainability.

Donations

Our team graciously accepts donations to support our mission. Your donation will support the creation of health education resources and help cover administrative costs that keep our website running. Our resources will always be freely available. Your donation makes that possible, helping ensure the long-term health and survival of our organization. Volunteer-based initiatives and the creation of health resources remain the core of what we do, but offering services to external organizations is a pragmatic step that helps us continue serving our communities sustainably.

Services

We offer services that align with missINFORMED’s mission and reflect our team’s wealth of knowledge, creativity, and expertise. Funds raised through services are fully reinvested into our volunteer work to keep our resources freely accessible.

All service requests are carefully assessed using a matrix our team developed to ensure the project aligns with our principles. Where possible, and with the client’s consent, we publicly list all service projects that our team completes. We also want to note that taking on a service contract does not mean we endorse or align with the broader organization or individual; in many cases, our engagement is focused solely on the specific project we are supporting.

Our Intake Matrix

Our team uses a structured matrix to guide which service projects we take on.
