\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tOur work primarily takes place on the traditional lands of the Haudenosaunee, Anishinaabe, Attiwonderonk, Mississauga Peoples, and the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. While we operate from this place, our hope is to support Nations and communities across Turtle Island. We recognize that the land we live and work on shapes our lives, and with that comes a responsibility to care for both the land and the people connected to it. Many members of our team are immigrants or settlers, and we acknowledge that our perspectives on health, as well as our access to health care, are shaped by our own lived experiences and the privileges that come with them. We are committed to continually reflecting on, challenging, and decolonizing our practices, and to learning from the knowledge, experiences, and leadership of Indigenous land defenders and protectors.\u00a0<\/span>\n\nmissINFORMED strives to be inclusive of all women and gender-diverse people who call what is currently known as Canada home. We aim to build an organization that reflects and supports people with intersecting identities, including queer, trans, Two-Spirit, and non-binary folks, as well as Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour. We do our best to ensure that people speak from their own lived experiences, while also recognizing that no community is a monolith. As a team, we remain committed to listening, learning, and expanding our understanding.\u00a0<\/span>\n\nWe know that land acknowledgements are only one step toward dismantling colonial systems. Meaningful action also includes supporting Indigenous sovereignty, advocating for policies that return land and resources to Indigenous Nations, resisting policies that cause harm, and ensuring Indigenous people are fairly compensated for their knowledge and emotional labour.
